When you get in taekwondo, it teaches you the life skills of respect, self control, discipline-that’s why I love it. I really attribute those skills to really getting over my dad’s death. If I didn’t have that, I would have lost it.
I like to make my fights exciting and different. Everybody in UFC can fight. We’re capable of kickboxing, wrestling, but I like to stand out. That’s what I really pride myself on. What can I do to stand out from the other people in my sport.
You can do anything you put your mind to. I don’t care what situation you’re in.
No one can do in the octagon what I can do. That ‘Showtime Knee’ – I never even practiced that once.
I’m always adapting, I’m always learning, and I’m always changing.
My whole philosophy is working smarter and not harder. And making sure I’m using little effort and getting a huge effect.
Attitude determines effort.
I feel like I’m one of the best strikers in MMA. I just need the time to prove it. You haven’t really seen my full potential yet.
