Competitive art was once an Olympic sport

Competitive art was an Olympic sport from 1912 to 1948. The Olympic Movement’s founder, Pierre de Coubertin, originally intended art competitions to be part of the modern Olympic Games. The competitions were inspired by Coubertin’s desire to combine sports competitions with art competitions.
