Fun Fact: The Caesar salad was created in Tijuana, Mexico
Many people think the Caesar salad was named after Julius Caesar — it’s not. The Caesar salad was invented by an Italian restauranteur named Caesar Cardini who operated restaurants in the United States. However, in 1920, Prohibition threw a wrench in his restauranteur dreams by cutting into profits. Cardini, looking for a place to avoid these costly rules, landed in Tijuana, Mexico where he created the now-famous caesar salad.
