Stolen Frenchie Reunited With Owners After Months of Searching

An Atlanta couple has thankfully been reunited with their stolen pet, an 11-month-old French Bulldog named Stormy. Now just shy over a year, Stormy was locked in Victoria Donahoo’s car when she and her husband stopped for gas. In that briefest of moments, while the two were inside the store, a thief managed to take off with the car – it was so brief that it was already gone when Victoria’s husband went outside to fetch the pump number so they could pay for their gas at the register.

Surprisingly, the car turned up quickly, spotted only a few days later at an apartment complex. The vehicle itself seemed intact, but Stormy was nowhere to be found. Donahoo claims that this discrepancy implies that Stormy had been kidnapped by the thief on purpose since she’s a young Frenchie, a breed of dog which can cost thousands of dollars.

Regardless, Stormy did manage to turn up, though it’s only by chance that she was able to get back to her family despite her lack of microchip. The pup was found on Cascade Palmetto Highway and quickly brought to LifeLine’s Fulton County Animal Services shelter, where employee Kim Meek recalled seeing the crime reported on 11Alive News. As a result, Kim reached out to Donahoo directly and reunited the couple with their dog.

While the criminal has not been found, it’s truly amazing that the chance sighting of a TV news story meant that this family will be able to celebrate Christmas intact.
