The so-called Iran threat could be dealt with by establishing a nuclear-weapons-free zone in the Middle East. Everyone is in favor of that, including Iran. The U.S. blocks it because they would have to open up Israeli nuclear weapons to inspection.

It would be helpful if the US would finally acknowledge its contributions to destabilization and regime change in the region. Doing so can help us change US foreign policy, trade policy, climate policy, & carceral border policy to address causes of mass displacement & migration.

Imperialism is still alive and well. You don’t have a military force of the size that the US this very moment has in the middle of the Arab world & call it ‘self-inflicted violence,’ it is imported from the outside.

Our mostly futile efforts to isolate and topple the Islamic Republic (Iran) have left Washington with essentially zero capacity to shape Iran’s perceptions, actions, or diplomatic trajectory.

Today, the US does not get to exit Iraq and Afghanistan but is expelled. And, at the same time, it is the oppressed people, from Palestine and Syria to Yemen and Afghanistan, as well as the US taxpayers, who have to pay for this lack of rationality.

The US dragged Ukraine to where it is now. By interfering in Ukraine’s internal affairs, creating color revolutions and toppling one government, and putting another in power, the US dragged Ukraine into this situation.

To be fair, we have helped to create the problem we’re now fighting.
